CCTV & Motion Viewer The use of closed circuit television to detect crime and enhance public safety is increasingly recognised as an effective way to provide surveillance for your premises
Intruder Alarms An ADT electronic security system can help protect your business and personnel from burglary and intrusion that could result in devastating property loss, damage or injury. An ADT Business consultant will assist you with determining the solution that meets your business needs in terms of effective yet affordable security.
Fire Alarms Having monitored smoke and heat detectors as part of your security system means ADT will respond to help keep your business and property safe when you or your staff are at work as well as when the property is vacant. ADT monitoring can also prevent costly false alarms being attended by the Fire Service, by contacting keyholders first.
Alarm Monitoring We are all used to hearing, and often ignoring, the sounds of sirens and ringing bells from vehicles and buildings – which is why our customers rely on the ADT alarm monitoring service to be assured that someone will respond to their alarms.
ADT provides three monitoring options for small businesses:
- Critical Service: Suitable for business premises with a general security requirement, this alarm system normally communicates all activity to ADT’s monitoring centre. However ADT will only take action in a limited number of circumstances, including:
- Alarm activation
- Loss of mains power
- Low battery alarm
- Non-communication between the alarm system and our monitoring equipment e.g telecommunications faults
- Business Check Service: This is an enhanced level of security for business premises with a higher security requirement. It includes the Critical Service plus it is designed to ensure that at a specific time each day, the alarm is set – and if it is not, this is for a verified reason.
- Premium Service: This service is recommended for high risk business premises, such as financial institutions or drug storage facilities, that have secure areas with limited, timed access. The customer provides a schedule to ADT of when the alarm should be turned off and when it should be set. If there is any alarm activity (setting or disarming) outside of this schedule, ADT will request verification, and if not provided, will take action according to the customer’s contact plan.
How Does Alarm Monitoring Work?
- The alarm is attached to your telephone line, or in some cases to a wireless network, which then is used to send signals from the alarm control panel to our monitoring centre.
- The operators are able to see what type of alarm is coming through and then take action accordingly to the customer’s contact plan. They call the keyholders, patrol response, police force or fire service.
- Operators are also able to monitor when the alarm is being armed and disarmed, indicating opening and closing times of your business.
