Typically an EAS detection system alarms because an anti-theft device passes through the sensors without being deactivated. When that happens, responding employees must record the event in manual logs � if they do so at all. At best, these logs offer spotty information to management about loss prevention activities and alarm events. To get any value from these logs, their contents must be aggregated and analysed, but these efforts can take so much time that any conclusions drawn from them can be long after-the-fact.
