Understanding trouble conditions for DSC alarm control panels

panel2b To view the “Troubles” press [*] then [2] on the keypad. If a number lights up on the LED display, it will correspond to the trouble conditions as follows:

Trouble Condition
[1] Service Required Press [1] to determine the specific trouble. Lights 1 – 8 will light up to indicate the trouble:
1. Low battery
2. Bell circuit trouble
3. General system trouble
4. General system tamper
5. Module supervision
6. RF jam detected
7. PC5204 low battery (<11.5V. restores on 12.5V)
8. PC5204 AC failure (no AC input)
[2] Mains Power Failure AC power is no longer being supplied to the control panel
[3] Telephone Line Trouble There is a problem with the telephone line
[4] Failure to Communicate The communicator failed to communicate with any of the programmed telephone numbers
[5] Zone Fault

Press [5] while in trouble mode to determine specific zone with fault

  • Open circuit present on these zones
  • One or more wireless devices have not checked in within the programmed time
[6] Zone Tamper

Press [6] while in trouble mode to determine specific zones in tamper

  • Tamper is present on these zones
[7] Wireless Device Low Battery

Press [7] to toggle device with low battery

  • 1st press: wireless zone
  • 2nd press: handheld keypads
  • 3rd press: wireless keys
[8] Loss of System Date/Time When the panel is powered up the internal clock needs to be set to the correct time

Example:

  • Where a battery is low in a remote, when [*] [2] is pressed, [7] will light up.
  • Pressing the [7] button will then display any wireless zones which have a low battery.
  • If [7] is pressed again low batteries on handheld keypads will display.
  • To view low batteries on wireless remotes, press the [7] button for a third time.
